Since we are on the topic of compression readings...

I have a 79 182Q that has a Cont O-470U. For the last 2 years at annual, I have had to replace a cylinder each year due to low compressions. This year it is 2 more (total of 4 cylinders in last 3 years). My engine is about 15 years and 1000hrs SMOH. Should I be concerned there is more going on than just the cylinders? Engine makes good power, starts easy, and goes through a qt of oil about every 7-10 hrs.

I spoke with my shop about it and he is going to do an oil analysis and scope the cylinder to see if he can see any corrosion.

Is there more I should be looking at?

around 35/80 for the problem cylinders, so pretty low
