Cyber Security Lapse at SWF

ZDNet is reporting that a security lapse exposed Stewart International Airport's critical servers for a year.

"The files included gigabytes of emails, sensitive government files, and a password list, which researchers say could give hackers 'full access' to the airport's systems."

My industry is just doing a bang up job, ain't it?

Not putting things in computers and on networks that shouldn't be there in the first place, really should be more of a priority than it is.

The insider stories from this biz really indicate to me that even when insane amounts of money are thrown at "security", not even the places, and systems, one would expect to be done right, are anywhere close. Not even the super secret squirrel stuff.
