Planning a trip to Mexico. Out and return from the Phoenix area.
Previously, I have stopped at Nogales to clear customs (piston single). I am now flying a turboprop, so I applied for the CBP "Overflight Exemption", meaning I could go to TUS or PHX. Obviously, PHX (or even SDL) is closer to where I ultimately want to go, but I've heard TUS is super-efficient for customs and they get you in and out fast. What's the story in PHX? Looks like you would clear on the south cargo ramp? Anyone ever done it? PHX has cheap fuel, so that's a plus. I'm thinking I will avoid SDL due to the customs user fee, and the fuel pricing.
