CS prop and engine out procedure?

Get the prop to full decrease RPM right away. If it's windmilling, chances are the engine failure was not attributable to oil...Loss of oil pressure (or, quanity-that results in low pressure) the engine will ultimately seize. Hydromatic props on almost all light planes can still be controlled, as long as the windmilling is to an RPM in the governing range - 1500-1700. Makes a big difference in the gliding distance, maybe double. Note: We're talking singles.
