Dry eyes???

Guest
Any help out there for dry eyes? I'm an OF (78) and my dry eyes have become debilitating. They water non stop. I am totally unfit to fly they water so much. I've tried Restasis with no results. My present Ophthalmologist doesn't seem inclined to offer anything more then the Restasis Rx.

Has anyone dealt with this problem & solved it?

Thanks

If they're that bad, how are you able to drive?

Your symptoms don't sound to me like dry eye. It sounds like too much tears.
("...water non stop...")
With "dry eye" you lack tears and they become very irritated, red, and you get relief when you close them or apply artificial tears.

I have heard of blocked nasolacrimal ducts. (When they don't take the tears away, the tears end up on your face.)

See an ophthalmologist who specializes in cornea and external disease. Yes, there are things that can be done.

Why did a vision of Ted Striker immediate come to mind when I read the OP? Orange juice anyone?

I had/have dry eyes from LASIK. I have punctal plugs. Worked for me.

Good advice regarding Corneal/external disease ophthalmologist and punctal plugs. Also may try wrap around glasses that fit close to the eyes to try and keep the humidity high around the front of the eye. They would act much like goggles that the barnstormers use to wear. There are many more options, but the external disease specialist is where to start.
