For total power and control of our world, it's hard to beat the Sun. In Greek Mythology, Helios drove the Chariot Of The Sun across the sky.

For speed, I doubt anything is faster than a spacecraft. Helios is also the name of two spacecraft designed to study the Sun in the 1970's. They hold the all time speed record for any spacecraft - at 150,000 mph.
