Well, If there's one thing that I learned this month, its patience. I'm ready for my solo cross-country, but these gusty winds have kept me from doing them. It's probably been the most frustrating thing I've run into so far in my training. At least I've gained a good amount of relatively strong cross-wind experience.

In the Dallas area? Just wait for summer....

AA used to fly ATR 42 twin turboprops between DFW and Waco. Those typically fly at 8000-10000. They got canceled every other day in the summer for weather, generally thunderstorms. Now, they are using pressurized jets, so that experience is a whole lot better.

There is no question patience is one of the most important lessons in flight training.
 
it's been bad here, too. We had winds gusting 35 on monday which is very unusual for us. Plus we've had a lot of rain (which we need), but I've definitely curtailed my flying b/c of weather.
