Did you ever have a passenger like this crazy dude?

Nope. I did have a couple of local's who pretty much begged me to take them up in the Pitts and dump them out inverted. Since the Pitts had a canopy I couldn't see the future in that move, but they were sure anxious to make an inverted exit. Go figure.

Any diver drivers out there.....
Is it legal to skydive thru a cloud layer as thick as the one in that video?
I was based at ZPH, Zephyrhills, Fl for a while, and though I saw some pretty stupid skydiver tricks there I don't recall ever seeing a drop thru such a small hole.
Inquiring mind wants to know.

They are s'posed to.. but I know a lot of them like to blast through clouds, and do so regularily.

SEC. 105.17 FLIGHT VISIBILITY AND CLEARANCE
FROM CLOUD REQUIREMENTS
No person may conduct a parachute operation, and no pilot
in command of an aircraft may allow a parachute operation to
be conducted from that aircraft-
(a) Into or through a cloud, or
(b) When the flight visibility or the distance from any cloud
is less than that prescribed in the following table:
(a) No person may conduct a parachute operation, and no
pilot in command of an aircraft may allow a parachute
operation to be conducted from that aircraft, over or into
a congested area of a city, town, or settlement, or an
open-air assembly of persons unless a certificate of authorization
for that parachute operation has been issued under
this section. However, a parachutist may drift over a congested
area or an open-air assembly of persons with a fully
deployed and properly functioning parachute if that parachutist
is at a sufficient altitude to avoid creating a hazard
to persons or property on the surface.
(b) An application for a certificate of authorization issued
under this section must—
(1) Be made in the form and manner prescribed by the
Administrator, and
(2) Contain the information required in Sec. 105.15(a)
of this part.
(c) Each holder of, and each person named as a participant
in a certificate of authorization issued under this section
must comply with all requirements contained in the certificate
of authorization.
(d) Each holder of a certificate of authorization issued under
this section must present that certificate for inspection
upon the request of the Administrator, or any Federal,
State, or local official.
SEC. 105.23 PARACHUTE OPERATIONS
OVER OR ONTO AIRPORTS
No person may conduct a parachute operation, and no pilot
in command of an aircraft may allow a parachute operation to
be conducted from that aircraft, over or onto any airport
unless—
(a) For airports with an operating control tower:
(1) Prior approval has been obtained from the management
of the airport to conduct parachute operations
over or on that airport.
(2) Approval has been obtained from the control
tower to conduct parachute operations over or
onto that airport.
ALTITUDE FLIGHT VISIBILITY DISTANCE FROM CLOUDS
(STATUTE MILES)
(1) 1,200 feet
or less above
the surface
regardless of
the MSL
altitude .......................3 ....................500 feet below
1,000 feet above
2,000 feet horizontal
(2) More than
1,200 feet
above the
surface but
less than
10,000
feet MSL ....................3 ....................500 feet below
1,000 feet above
2,000 feet horizontal
(3) More than
1,200 feet
above the
surface and
at or above
10,000
feet MSL ....................5 ....................1,000 feet below
1,000 feet above
1 mile horizontal

Other fun Cessna tricks:

1. hook your toes over the leading edge and hang upside down
2. hang from the right wheel, swing under and grab the left, and climb up and surprise the pilot (only works on early model narrow gear Cessnas, unless you've got really long arms!)

I would think that as long as the parachute was properly equipped for IFR flight, and the parachutist instrument rated and current, and a active IFR flight plan was on file, it would be OK.

:p

We have a friend who launches his hot air balloon from our farm sometimes. One time he took off from here with two guys who jumped out of his basket at 10,000 feet (with parachutes on).

So this would be IFR while "Lost Comms" right? ;)
