The witness said the plane fell out of the clouds. Hmmmmmmm.
The pilot was listed as having a hangar at Turkey Mountain on their web site. It's a nice grass strip.

Does sound a whole lot like a VFR pilot getting into hard IFR. Tragic.

News paper miss quoted the Sheriff,(imagine that) the crash site was approximately 10 nm from the airport. According to the FAA website, Mr. Anderson was not Instrument rated.
