I had to put off a Bahamas trip because of the weather. I could fly over in in it but coming back to Florida would have be dangerous next week end.

I am just having to wait until the weather clears, sitting around with my bags packed.. and watching the weather reports that seem to get worse each day. Looks like a Pacific storm is coming across Mexico right to Florida, and it will keep me home after this storm passes.

I know many of you up north would rather have my weather than what you have going on, sorry for you up there, some places have it real bad.

Pilots live and die by the weather, I have to remind myself of that a lot, especially with my family along for the ride.

Sorry to grumble, just watching it rain keeps me in a bad mood..

Seems to me that being stranded there for a day or three would not be the biggest tragedy ever. Also, not certain I would cancel a trip today, because of the forecast for a week from now (unless it is a sure-thing hurricane).

Can you post the weather you're concerned about and your analysis of it? Could make an interesting discussion, and perhaps I could learn a little something.

I don't understand what's wrong with being stranded ,for a few days,in the Bahamas . You can never count on what the weather will do until it does it.

You're coming into FL summer weather....it will never be clear.

Florida summer flying, fly early in the AM ,be ready to land and let the storm blow by you.

Just look on the bright side.....

No literally....look on the other side of the small FL summer storm cells...it will be sunny and bright. :D

I've been banging around all day in Florida. Nothing too bad but i am happy to have radar onboard. It's manageable.

flying in Florida is always done in the morning, the afternoon showers along the coast see to start around noon.

When I fly back to Fl, I try to get to customs near 10 AM so I can be in Deland by noon. Even getting back as soon as I can, the heavy clouds are forming , I have flown as low as 15 hundred feet to get out of the mix, and really looking for towers that will reach 2000 ft.

yes summertime is a challenge, winter is generally clear.

Because I use my boat to fish and dive, the high winds in the Bahamas are my biggest problem there, rain usually is in cells, and they pass quickly and then it clears up, the wind just never stops once the front is there.

In Florida, the summer weather fronts are endless, you never know when it will they will bring in a tropical or hurricane storm.
