Cowl fastener

[455 Bravo Uniform]

My 182 cowl has these fasteners. I call them dzus, but are they? I'm looking for the exact brand/style of the one pictured above because one of the ones on my cowl don't match the rest of them and I want to replace it.

Camlock maybe? I think Spruce has them.

The two terms get interchange quite a bit, but the Dzus fastener (stud) is solid and a receptacle wire spring is attached to the back side of the panel. Camlocks have a coil spring as part of the fastener (stud) and two pins sticking out that go into a receptacle that is mounted to the back side of the panel..

I have the DZUS fasteners, and I like them; for a little while.

I find I have to replace them periodically because the grabbing ends bend after a while.
