Ok get your heads out of the gutter.

K got me an amazing valentine gift while we were in Los Angeles. I love maps and particularly old maps. She ended up finding a 1955 sectional chart of Little Rock on Ebay.

It is very interesting how sectionals use to be laid out. The map is all on one side with the reverse having flying tips and tricks. Information that I would find useful should still be included on today's maps. Like VHF line of sight distances and basic cross country information.

Now all I need to do is find a place that will frame it.

I'm attaching a scan of the sectional below. I only scanned the first panel as its still folded up.

Very cool. Notice how the isogonic line shows 6 degrees east on the old map, present day is near 0 degrees...

Awesome.

This was WAY before my time, but it seems people had their heads screwed on right back in those days. I sure wish I could have been apart of it.
