Continental Special Edition engines

What is the difference between a Special Edition engine say the IO-550 vs. the standard? I watched a video on YouTube of a Bonanza type demo video and said it had an IO-550-C Special Edition.

They're the ones with the special parts from China. Seriously, no clue. I suspect though that Mattituck does one of their 'boutique', minimum tolerance assembly and balance jobs on it. I'm pretty sure Mattituck does a lot of contract work for Continental these days.

Continental said last summer they brought all the Mattituck work back to Alabama, Henning. I'd thought Mattituck got shut down.
