Congratulations to Alan (a new forum member here) for his first solo last Friday!

I can tell that Alan will make a great addition to our pilot population.

We recently found out that Alan is the son of the CFI who finished Tom's prep for his CFI certificate years ago. It's a small world. :)

Thanks Diane! It still hasn't sunk in yet! It really is a small world and the aviation world is even smaller. I put the whole story of my solo for those interested on my blog: www.climbureverest.blogspot.com

Hey Kirbhund, I go into Festus with some regularity (It's home to a lifelong friend of ours). Look forward to meeting you.....

Let me know next time you come into Festus!

Whoooo hoooooo! You'll never be the same after your first solo. An awesome experience.

Congratulations! I hope somebody cut out your shirt tail!
Now, onward to certification. Good luck!

Congrats Alan. Funny feeling to know you are up there and you have to get yourself back down!

Yeah. Sometimes it is better not to think about things like that!
