Computer Frustration - Golden Eagle

Juuuussst Great. I go to click on Golden Eagel today on my computer to plot out a flight and I get a message that says Fpengine.exe-Application Error. Then below it there is a red circle with a white X in it and next to it it says "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142.) click on OK to terminate the application. Grrrrrrr.

Any ideas? I don't know if its related but I recently installed "gotomypc" so I can use it remotely. In addition I notice that the advertisements on what ever page I go to are flashing a lot this also happens to the smiles section where you can select a smile on POA. so Frrrrrustrated!!!!
 
I take it you have not upgraded to the new Golden Eagle - 2007 engine??

As of this latest update cycle the old engine is no longer valid. You cannot get anymore updates for it nor can you use it to access online services. You have to update. It is still free but adds the capability to just purchase a few extra module instead of the whole flight planner. Still works as before once you do the upgrade with a few improvements. I have been using it for over a month now and like it.

Ah good, then the only thing, and I hate suggesting this, is to reinstall Golden Eagle-2007. I did by accident exit the program while downloading and it hosed it up but good. I think that is just a bug in the new version as a second version was available last week. Reinstall did fix my problem.
 
Yeah I installed that second version too. I kinda figured that I was gonna have to reinstall the program. Oh well.
