Are these in range or would you have concerns about reaching TBO?

average for the big bore, mid life. any indication where the leak is?

only one tool,
trend?
oil consumption?
changes in o.c.?
power?
filter clean?
oil analysis?
are the leaks past valves or into case?
plugs look like?

All good questions. I have not seen the plane yet, just some specs. Didn't know if the compressions might be a bit low. Thanks for the input.

I don't think they are all that low for a mid-time big bore Continental. I've had more than one engine with similar numbers during the last half of it's life exceed TBO. The main thing is to insure that this is ring leakage, not a valve issue which would likely get worse rather quickly. 60/80 sound pretty bad until you realize that this means you have a leak that's passing 25% of what would flow through a tiny .020" diameter orifice.
