Compressed Air Instead of Nitrogen in Gear Strut?

it's tough for something to be "non field repairable" when everything in it is conventional. The tube can be re-chromed, the seals can be replaced. What you're talking about is a wreck repair scenario, not a repair for a leak. But nice attempt at scare tactics aimed at the clueless.

as Tom noted this ain't a standard Oleo, a Cessna, Piper, most Beech sure you can open it up and do a lot of work.

The rebuild kit for a 100/200 series Cessna nose strut is about $10 and an hour or so of labor if the fasteners aren't too stubborn. I will be doing mine shortly.

However this is a Beechcraft Dutchess, it has a "sealed" strut. Using my "acceptable data" ie the maintenance manual I can service it or replace it. So yes in this case I am talking about the repair for a leak.
