Common radial engine modifications / enhancements

A question for all radial engine owners/operators. What have you changed or enhanced on your radial over the years, and has it been effective?

I'm really keen to understand what the good and the not so good experiences are. Would be good if you could state your engine type too.

I'll start this off with the following then, it might help stimulate a few responses / opinions ???

· Compression adjustment to account for grade of fuel i.e. usually an increase
· Replacement forged pistons with modern piston rings
· Fuel-injection system with custom nozzles to replace standard carburetor based systems
· Replace air start (if present) with electronic ignition & automotive plugs

What else do folks do with varying degrees of success?
