I will be retiring in 3 to 5 years, and our current intentions are to spend 5-6 months a year at our cottage in Canada and the remainder of the year in Florida. As I will be a lot "poorer" when I'm retired I've been trying to come up with ideas to keep flying. While I could get my CFI to keep flying in FL, I noted there are a couple of sea plane operations reasonably close to my cottage who fly fishermen and hunters around. Obviously I would need to pick up an ASES rating, but how would my US Comm, ASES, be treated in Canada? Could I be hired to fly Canadian registered sea planes in Canada or would I have to pick up a Canadian license?

Written test only to get a Canadian Commercial Pilot's License for FAA certificate holders...not sure what the regs are in terms of the equivalent of Part 135 for charter ops...
