I could use some advice from Comanche pilots.

My rotors are questionably close to not being in spec. I don't know anything about rotors and I don't have the vocabulary for this but as I understand it I have the original riveted on rotors on my plane.

I'm trying to figure out what all my options are. Apparently the original ones are really hard to come by. Webco does some kind of wheel half swap that I don't fully understand but the price tag on that is $5,800.

I don't really want to spend that much money on rotors but if that's the only option I'll do it. I have a 1961 Comanche 250. Is there a less expensive route to getting this problem solved? Or is it best to just pay webco to replace them?

I can’t feel your pain, but am learning from it. I know that’s not helpful, but you should feel better knowing there’s some good out this thread.

“Close” can be a few years away. You don’t fall out of the sky at min.

If you can’t buy new rotors you may want to check if they could chromed

or other type of plating.

By close I mean they are going to fail annual in September.

I'll bring a jack and some tools. You keep an eye on EdFred...
While it's jacked up, don't forget to swap the gear so the calipers are on the inside. Then you will look cool, albeit not as cool as you would look if you had a Duke.

I thought it was already "jacked up" and that was the main issue...

Or was that the door? I'm having a hard time keeping up.
