Any suggestions for a trusted shop that can do a pre-buy on a Columbia near Greensboro, NC or the Richmond VA area.

I would take it to Aero Industries in Richmond, KRIC. Lanette and Russ know these airframes like the back of their hands.

+1. That's who my buddy with a Columbia 400 takes it to...

Gary, another possibility

Call TJ or Justin at Air Care in Rocky Mount...tell them I sent you...

252-977-1717

These guys are tip notch.

I believe that's where the broker had the planes recent annual done.

That sounds like a reason NOT to have the pre-buy done there.

To avoid a conflict of interest, you want somebody who has no customer relationship other than you, as far as the plane is concerned.

Edit: Air Care Inc. in Elm City is a Cessna Service Center that is also a Cirrus Service Center that's often mentioned favorably on the Cirrus (COPA) forum. That might be attractive for you, since they would be familiar with composite planes in addition to the usual Cessnas.

Yep, understand the pre buy and potential conflict. I've been down the airplane purchase road before. I'm just gathering info for a friend looking to purchase this type of aircraft

Guys, thanks for the Air Care heads up. I'll look into that tomorrow prior to departure.

Gary, get a call in to TJ. They are pretty busy there but they have I think 4-5 mechanics....If you can get TJ, Justin or Neal to do the prebuy, you are golden.
