Colorado Pilots...

Well, the wx Sunday looks to be decent.
I'm up for Sidney, and I'll bring the wife and brood.

Any thoughts on what time?

I have the plane from 10a-3p but am still discussing the schedule with the family. 11am-ish departure is most likely for me, but a possibility of 10am...

Shall we pick a time/location to meet up there? There's a wide variety of aircraft speeds in this group (I pedal as fast as I can). Takes me an hour, Clark - much less (assuming the Frankenkota is in the hangar and not the shop).

Lunch at the store or somewhere else?

I've only eaten at Cabela's and it's ok ... I take that back, the night I got stranded at Sidney I had dinner at Perkins.

Google maps shows Buffalo Point Restaurant near Cabela's with 2 reviews, both positive.

Dude's Steak House (north side of town, not close to Cabela's) has a number of reviews - most positive. Not easy to get there since I assume we'll use the Cabela's Courtesy van.

Either Buffalo Point or Cabela's lunch counter sound okay to me with BP probably getting a slightly higher vote. Plan on arriving SNY ~11:30 ish?

Sunday is still looking good for me. Should I show up at FTG with my thumb out?

11:30 arrival works for me, too ... lesse, add another how long for BJC-APA-FTG-SNY? :)

I just skimmed past Clark lamenting the plane's still in annual? or did I mis-read something?
Edit - just scrolled back - Tony's plane is still in annual ... I don't think I can close that loop BJC-SBS-APA-SNY...

You go to SBS and I'll stop by APA for Mari.

It's really no problem for me to drive to FTG which would seem to be easier, unless you really want to go to APA.

SBS is a bit out of the way, but thanks for the thought. I suppose I could take the King Air 200 that we share a hangar with right...

ooooooh! Then you can pick ME up! :) In fact, you could pick us ALL up! :D

"Tony? Tony who? Nope, don't know him... but thanks for the ride!!!!!" :D

I'm easy, self-loading baggage I am. You can blindfold me and point me towards an airplane. :)

Ummm, I'd prefer that any self-loading baggage watch where they're going...

Grrr finals! gotta study cant go

Okay, then show up at FTG a bit after 10 and catch a ride in the Frankenkota.

Finals happen at least twice a year, how many chances do you get for a ride to SNY? Of course there is always the question of why any sane person would really want to go to SNY but we probably shouldn't discuss that at this point.

Everything's looking good!
We'll see you all at 11:30 at SNY.
Monitor 122.75 just in case I feel the need to chat.

Leaving my house for FTG now. I'll probably stop at the terminal for a minute then go to Clark's hangar because I have no idea where Murphey's is.

Well, it ends that it doesn't matter that the plane is in annual still:

Everyone make it home safe and sound? :) Had some bumps around GXY, but over EIK at 7000', I hit a bump that I think qualifies as severe turbulence. Hit my head HARD on the overhead (seatbelts were tight) and lost 500' in a blink of an eye. Lots of twisting, turning, wagging and yawing and then it was over ... wow! Lasted only maybe 10 seconds but what a ride!

All the FTGers made it back jus' fine as far as I know (which means the three Cherokees). Dunno what you did to **** off the weather gods...;-)

I had a good time at the [cough] Cherokee convention today. Was I the only Cessna pilot? And I didn't even get to bring my plane...

Here are some pictures.
