I am buying a 'project' and there are clecos holding the canopy frame together and I have some concern that during shipping they could be problematic the way they stick out. Any good solutions to replace them until I get the carcass, I mean project, delivered?

Combination of the first two, emphasis on screws and nuts.

Pop rivets are hard to drill out without enlarging the holes.

Be sure the screws are very tight, and fit the holes. Use fine thread screws. If there is any looseness, the holes will become egg shaped or enlarged.

Be sure the screws are very tight...
Well that would be a trick since the canopy is attached to D-channel, which is the whole reason to use clecos in the first place.

No matter, I have the solution. Plastic push fasteners used to hold panels in cars.
