can I shoot electric contact cleaner into the lightning port?
Getting intermittent connx with charger.

Just use the end of a paperclip or a needle. It is typically pocket fuzz that causes the issue.

I'm thinking the problem might be a little stickier in nature.
IPhone 7's have some level of waterproofness, but not so much other models. If you need to use a solvent, I would use alcohol and some kind of swab that will fit.

Edit: you want the 99% (or high percentage) alcohol stuff. The cheap stuff has water in it.

You may also want to try a different charging cable as they sadly do go bad, even if they look good.

And yes power it off and use contact cleaner that is what it is made for.

Didn't know that was my problem, so I paid a guy at the iphone repair kiosk at the local mall $10 to clean out mine. I tried cleaning it out with a tooth pick, but it didn't help much.

Thanks to all who directed me to cleaning the lightning port,
There was definitely some wood? In there, much better now
