I took advantage of the warm-ish weather today to cleanse my Soul, including cleaning the windows with my favorite cleaner (Super Clean Accuvision). It's a little hard to get, but I like it better than Rain-X.

I thought this picture came out pretty good, considering it was taken with the BBerry camera.

Collenite Insulator Wax is the easiest way to clean the insides, especially in a newer car where all that oil leeching out of the plastics still collects on the glass.

Thanks. I'll try that.

Way less work than any window cleaner and leaves a streak free surface. You can go ahead and do your whole dash and any non fabric surfaces at the same time. On the clear plastic on the cluster test an edge first. There are some cheap plastics that it reacts with that take a lot of rubbing to come clear again, but the only time I've run into it is with really cheap plastic mirror panels. If you keep it on the vinyl/plastic it also helps reduce the evaporation/deterioration.

Just read up on that product. It looks like a good all-around car / aircraft wax, too. I presently use Turtle Wax Hard Shell because that's what they sell locally and I don't really find that there's any huge difference in car wax brands (they're all basically carnauba wax and some polymer or another), but maybe I'll switch to this stuff. The Amazon reviewers rave about it.

One question: In the Spring, I always have to treat the exterior black plastic trim with something because it takes a beating from the road salt and sand over the winter. Armor-All works for a while, but not for very long. Will the Collinite work on black plastic surfaces?

A roll of TP in the car in the winter months is good for the kit.

Alcohol/lemon juice wiped with newspaper has always done the job for me. This assumes glass and not plexi. Rain X for exterior in salt environment.

The plus side is it is inexpensive and is not as prone to triggering allergies or sensitivities in the user. I don't suffer allergies but have developed sensitivities to certain wood species. Anyway, who knows the formula of store bought products?

I park outside on dirt and have to clean windows before every flight. Used Pledge for years, tried Novus cleaner and a few others including Rain X and have settled on Plexus as the best for cleaning and shedding water. How the water behaves on a 600' gray day in fine mist is a big deal when you operate on short, unimproved LZs.

Yes, Collenite will replace all you waxing/hard surface care products with a longer lasting easier to use one that has no abrasive component in it. Use a damp microfiber applicator to put it on super thin, use another microfiber rag to take it off and you you also don't get all the dust residue everywhere, also you won't have any white residue in the cracks and stuff. On yachts I use it on everything, inside and out, that isn't fabric. Some boats I even use it to polish and protect raw wood instead of varnish when the owners don't want varnish but don't want raw teak rails either as it leaves a better surface than oiling.

Okay, thanks. I've been looking for a new product for the black plastic in particular. Looks like this could be it.

I figured it out once, I replaced $135 of various products with a $15 bottle of wax that in application will outlast the whole $135 stock of other products. When I get everything squared away we have dish soap, non sudsing ammonia, bleach, and Collenite to clean and care for every surface except the teak decks, and I use oxalic acid to bleach them back up after the soap and ammonia cleaning.

Use plexus now with good results, used 201 plastic polish for a bit, find the plexus to work better.
