Sure contact them. Might as well get flight following for the whole trip if your at it.

Class B transitions funnel traffic into a narrow space (see the N-S transition on the west side of Denver - very narrow). We actually have had mid-air collisions in that transition. Flight following at least, if not request a clearance into the B. Or best bet... go IFR if able.
