We just had a very poor flight training experience as a Citation crew with Loft in California. I'm curious how others have found Loft when compared to the other providers as we definitely aren't going back there.

Wrong forum to be asking this in. You probably need to be asking on propilotworld or something similar.

Will do - can you explain why so I don’t make the same mistake again?

There just aren't a huge number of business jet pilots on this board, so the chance of having a relevant reply are low. I trained at FlightSafety for both the CE-500 and CE-525 types and had good experiences, but can't compare to anyone else so it's not a particularly useful data point.

ProPilotWorld is specifically focused on corporate and charter aviation, so your chances of finding someone that can help you are far higher.

Thank you. I fly my own (old) Ultra so I’m not allowed on the pro pilot sites but I appreciate the feedback. I guess I’ll go back to FS since the experience at Loft wasn’t good.

I can't imagine you'd be unwelcome at PPW. Using the 'Pro' moniker is merely convenient because most of us aren't fortunate enough to fly jets around unless someone else is paying us to do it. :)

You might also try Beechtalk…there are a few Citation guys over there who have used LOFT, I think.

I would like to know about your problems with LOFT. I am scheduled next month for SPE recurrent at CAE but it sounds like they will not be able to do it, some problems with the FAA. Loft is one of the four places I have found that still do the SPE. FS, Simcom and RTC are the other three.

Flight Safety International gave me excellent Citation II and III training.

Flight Safety in Long Beach was well organized for my Citation training over the years.

All you need to join PPW is a Commercial ticket. No requirement to be employed as a pilot.

I joined PPW once I got my Commercial cert and spent the first few years as a lurker just soaking up the knowledge. It's one of the more useful aviation sites.

What was the bad experience?

It's been a few years now, but I did my last Citation schoolhouse recurrent with Loft in Carlsbad. I thought it was a great experience and much better than the place I did my initial.
