I need a recommendation for a Cisco router for a project. Don't need anything current; the cheaper the better, as long as it runs real IOS (so a HOWTO will work for it and anything nicer someone might be able to come up with). It doesn't have to be a 2500 series, or even rackmount; an Ethernet-Ethernet version of the 1604 I had once upon a time would be fine.

It needs to be able to route from one Ethernet port to another Ethernet port, with NAT inbound (configurable port forwarding) to a server as well as outbound. It also must be able to deal with a 10.0.0.0/8 network on the server side. (Many cheap routers can't handle this.) It doesn't have to do GigE, or even 100BaseT.

I'm not familiar with the bewildering array of Cisco configurations, and don't know if they can route from/to every Ethernet port on the box, or just some of them. Can someone explain things to me so I can figure out what's going on?
