It happens from 17:13 - 18:58 to help skip the boring parts. I was thinking of the Cirrus guys here (@Tantalum , @PaulS , @SixPapaCharlie , @RudyP , etc) and all the chute talk here when I started to poke fun. Obviously was done tongue-in-cheek as the successful record/sales speaks for itself. :)

For those that watch any of the rest, while I made some mistakes I do plan to incorporate regular sim training into our schedule. I think it helps...especially flying a twin regularly. Also nice to give the non-pilot spouse some landing exposure if the worst case scenario ever happens.

*No I would not have gone around in real life due to a vehicle on the runway...I would have just landed over the top. *Gear down/put it down.

I've never heard of the parachute as "blossoming", but I like it, lol

Next time I brief a passenger on it I'll make sure to include that

PS-they always tell you it needs a fair amount of force to pull, but I was actually surprised by how hard she had to pull it for it to react

    Cool vid

There are some full motion sims that are supposed to be a close approximation of a real pull.

I was a bit surprised as well...considering she’s a buff crossfit girl and all. :) I asked and he said that is the calibrated pressure and one of the reasons they recommend this for Cirrus pilots to be prepared.

My guess as well especially if you are lower or faster than recommend. Or if you come down centered on a telephone poll or windmill of course. :)

Glad you mentioned this and at the time I hadn’t. It is a great idea (silly me for not thinking of it). We will do that next time as I plan on us doing this regularly moving forward.

Kevin, if you're checklist and flow items are out loud all the time, I bet she'll catch on VERY fast. My son cut me off abeam approach once early on and did ALL the call outs to touchdown. I had him do everything except the rudder pedals to final and over the runway and he had speed etc nailed. Let him taxi a crap ton on trips after that and he was fine ... except I couldn't get him to take his PPL even though I had CFI buddies that offered to teach him for free:(

He was under 16 at the time ... he's now 24 and tells me I should have forced him to get his PPL:eek::confused:
