Last week Cirrus announced it is expanding its service center at McKinney National Airport (KTKI), with a $9 million dollar price tag. It will include a large new hangar. This might be behind the DMN paywall, so I'm posting a couple of paragraphs.

Cirrus Aircraft, a Duluth, Minn.-based aircraft manufacturer, is growing its presence in North Texas with a 47,771-square-foot expansion of its facility at McKinney National Airport and the addition of an innovation center to support product development and engineering teams.

The company is developing plans for an expanded factory service center at the airport and expects to break ground early next year, with completion anticipated in early 2023. The facility will offer flight training programs and concierge-style aircraft management in addition to maintenance services.

More hype than substance. 6 million doesn’t by much these days.

It's $9 million. They're building a hangar with that, and the other add ons are still to be funded. Is that enough?

Hey at least they’re expanding and building planes and haven’t completely given up on piston GA.
