I filed for my flight today to KJVL in the hopes of getting to shoot an approach.
I filed 10C-Besie-KJVL
The track is pretty straight.
Prior to departure I got an email stating my clearance. This is a nice feature from FlightAware BTW. My route was going to be 10C-SIMMN-KJVL
It was not as we say in aviation 'direct'
But below the clouds it was very good vis. Chi-App kept me VFR until they could hand me off to Rockford App who could give me direct. Had Chi-App given me my IFR clearance right away I would have gotten that lousy route.
