Hello, All! Lurked awhile, joined today. I'll be posting a little, but hopefully learning a lot. I've been busily raising three kids (thank heaven for an amazing wife who's really keeping them on track), and now I'm busily getting them educated, so I'm very belatedly and somewhat haltingly trying to carve out enough time and resources to begin to pursue a PPL. Meanwhile, I've enjoyed the posts here and look forward to chiming in from time to time.

Thanks! I enjoy a new challenge. So far, the more I learn, the more I realize how much more there is to learn.
 
Howdy, neighbor. I'm hangard next door at Hawthorne. I did my ppl training at Gulf Coast. Lakefront's a great place...ATC's very accommodating. You in the Lakeview area by chance?
 
Howdy! I'm near there, and considering Gulf Coast. Did you like them? Thanks for the insight on ATC at Lakefront.
 
I did, but it's been 4 or 5 years so probably all new instructors now. I actually became pretty good friends with my instructor and ended up doing half my training with him after he left Gulf Coast and I bought a 182. They still have a few nice 172s's over there, though.
BTW, should be out there around 10:00 tomorrow just to put around with a buddy in case you're around. 715 in the south hangar.
