Chase credit card- FBO discount this quarter?

So I have a chase credit card and they do various rewards promotions each quarter where you get 5% off(basically, it goes through "points" which you can redeem for cash back) purchases in different categories. It changes every quarter.

Anyway I was flipping through my statements and I had a couple of charges for fuel at my home airport and another airport. Chase categorized both as "gas station" and was giving me the 5% off

If you have the same card/rewards program I suggest using it on your next FBO purchase and see what happens.

Amex gave full rebates on AvGas for a number of years because they had no different category for aviation vs automotive.

While not showing on the bill or the annual category summary any differently, they apparently figured it out this year and the self serve at the airport is no longer a 3% cash back money machine like it was for many many years. Haha.
