Just finished up a tour of the Canadian Arctic: Baffin Island, Devon Island, Beechey Island. The original itinerary was a flight on a regional jet from Calgary, through Yellowknife, then on to Resolute. The tour company had to scramble as the Canadian fire situation deteriorated. We ended up flying into Iqaluit, then working our way up to Resolute by boat. We then boarded a regional jet at Resolute Bay (CYRB) in Nunavut for a flight back to Calgary. The "hamlet" (their term) of Resolute has some 140 permanent residents. The airport has a 6500 ft gravel runway. Up at 74.72N, compass headings are unreliable: runways are marked in True directions.
