Chapel Hill?

We are looking at a trip to visit friends. If I wanted to get a chance to fly while there, what are the best options and how far will I have to travel?

Chapel Hill, NC? You're looking for rental options? If NC, closest flight school is ATP at (RDU). There are rentals at Burlington (BUY) as well (40 min drive). Can look them up on Airnav. Those are the closest ones I know of.

While RDU is the closest, Raliegh Executive (previously known as Sanford-Lee) might be a bit easier. It's not much further and the traffic will be less.

I live in chapel hill and Burlington (KBUY) and RDU are exactly the same distance for me. Burlington is a great airport. Uncontrolled, but good Instrument approaches and a good rental "fleet" on the field. C172's with g1000, and some pipers too I think.

I keep my plane there...highly recommend it.

You likely already figured out that the field that's actually IN Chapel Hill doesn't have any rentals that I know of.
