Several years ago I started taking a low dose of Mavik for mild hypertension. I went through all the reporting steps needed to get my medical when it came up. I have since reported it at each annual with no problem.

Recently my insurance company insisted that I switch to the generic version. It says right on the bottle "generic for mavik".

So.. at my next medical,.. do I simply write in the new name and add the note "generic for mavik", or should I say that I am still taking mavik, or do I need to go through the whole approval process again?

Tricky question..eh?

BTW- I'm not looking for advice, opinion, or speculation... just fact. Thanks!

Erik,

Just continue to report it as Mavik or trandolapril. Both are the same drug and are interchangeable. The docs @ OKC will recognize either name as the same. I am a pharmacist that has had bypass surgery and I'm very familiar with medical certification.
