My nephew got to take his first commercial flight a week ago and his first GA flight yesterday evening. He flew me around for about 45 minutes and did pretty well with hold heading and altitude. Anyway he's always had an interest in flying and has officially been bitten by the bug. He's a good kid without a dad or male role model in his life so I try to give him some guidance when I can. I bought him sportys ground school and gave him a list of things he needs to accomplish (ie medical, job, etc.) to kind of check his motivation level.

Any recommendations in the HUT area for a CFI or flight school ? I know the local flight school only does Cirrus training and unc ain't covering that bill LOL

If Cirrus training is too expensive, I’d imagine starting out in a jet at FlightSafety would be out of the question. ;)

@tonycondon would probably know who’s out there.

Salt City Aviation is a club at KHUT with a Grumman Yankee and Tiger.

There is also a 152 and a 172 for rent up the road at McPherson.

My glider club south of Hutchinson provides low cost low speed training.

There are many options at different price points in Wichita.

I will look into these options. Thank you very much !!
