Hello POA friends,

It's that time of the year again, time to start getting ready for Oshkosh. We at Cessnas 2 Oshkosh are hard at work putting together our 8th Annual Mass Arrival.

Our 2013 registration drive is now open and we would like to invite you to join the 2013 Cessnas 2 Oshkosh Mass Arrival into AirVenture - Oshkosh.

Those of you who have already flown our arrival and have camped with us at Cessna Base Camp in the North 40 know that the event is an unforgettable experience for every participant. Those of you who have yet to fly the arrival and camp with us, join us and find out how to fly into Oshkosh in style, in the safest way possible, enjoying the camaraderie of fellow Cessna owners and pilots and in the process, have the most fun since you got your pilot ticket.

As in previous years, we'll be gathering at our base, Wisconsin Aviation in Dodge County Airport Juneau, Wisconsin beginning on Thursday July 25. Roll call for our preflight brief is at 11:00 CDT (UTC-5) on Saturday July 27. We'll have lunch as a group and start the preflight brief at 12:00. Immediately after the preflight brief we start engines, taxi out and start launching. Cessna Lead will be touching down on the yellow dot Runway 36L at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh at 14:30 CDT (UTC-5), followed by as many planes as we can launch.

If you would like to know more about our group, follow this link, or cut & paste http://www.cessnas2oshkosh.com into to your browser's address bar and explore our website.

If you've already made your decision and want to go ahead and sign up, follow this link or cut & paste http://www.cessnas2oshkosh.com/registration into to your browser's address bar.

I would also like to let you all know that the 2013 first issue of The Pirep,

the Cessnas 2 Oshkosh email newsletter, has been sent to our subscribers list.

If you are not subscribed to The Pirep, you may subscribe by following this link or cutting & pasting http://www.cessnas2oshkosh.com/subscribe.htm into your browser's address bar.

You may also read the online version by following this link or typing http://www.cessnas2oshkosh.com/newsletter into your browser's address bar.

We want to thank you for your support for the past seven years and count on each one of you to make the 2013 Cessnas 2 Oshkosh Mass Arrival into AirVenture - Oshkosh the best yet. Again, if you would like to experience the thrill of formation flight, the camaraderie of fellow Cessna owners and pilots, their relatives and friends and in the process have as much fun as you can legally have with your clothes on, come join us, you are all welcome to our group.

Fly safe,

Anyone on the fence about taking part in a mass arrival should do it, it was the highlight of my trip to OSH in 2006

Hi Duncan,

We've missed you!

2006 was a great year, the first of seven for me. Hopefully 2013 will be the eighth. It's shaping up to be a tough recruiting year for us, just as it has been for everyone else in general aviation.

Gil, were I going to OSH I would be joining in again with out any doubt.

Out of curiosity, how do you know it will be rwy 36L already? That seems a bit premature to call the winds.

It has been 36L and 36R (during AirVenture) for the past seven years, regardless of wind direction.

In 2009 we landed on 36R and 36L with very strong and gusty winds from the west. Our flight lead asked ATC for Rwy 27 when we were 10 miles out, but ATC said: "Cessna Flight. Negative, you're cleared to land runway 36 right and 36 left, report 5 miles out".

Follow this link to our About Us page and check out the embedded YouTube video that shows Cessna Lead Craig Chipley's landing. Note the crab angle almost all the way to touchdown.

It will take something really bad, like a disabled aircraft on Rwy 36L for ATC to change the mass arrivals landing runway.

Hey Guys,

The updated version of Rodney's Audiovisual Presentation is now available on our website. A new feature of our website is the ability to watch the presentation right on our Training Page, without the need to download it. There are two embedded versions of the presentation, one is in Apple's Quicktime® movie format and the other is in html format. The Quicktime® movie version features graphic animation of the slides that describe maneuvers. It is compatible with every browser that has the Quicktime® extension installed. The html version is compatible with all browsers. Some browsers may display the graphic animations, depending on individual settings.

To view Rodney's Audiovisual Presentation, visit the Training Page, follow this link, or copy and paste the following url to your browser's address bar:
http://www.cessnas2oshkosh.com/training.aspx#Rodney.

The presentation is also available for download in read-only mode and in different formats including PowerPoint® for Windows®, Keynote® for Mac OS® and Apple's Quicktime®.

Our lead pilots can download a copy of the presentation with instructor's notes for use in formation flight training clinics from the
Admin section of the website. The Admin login credentials must be authenticated.

We strongly recommend that our registered pilots, as well as those on the fence considering flying the arrival, begin reviewing the slide presentation in preparation for their participation in a formation flight training clinic. Those who have already participated in previous arrivals can refresh their memory too.

If anyone experiences difficulties viewing or downloading Rodney's Audiovisual Presentation, please do not hesitate to post it here, or drop me a line.
