I've flown both enough to realize there isn't much difference except for visibility. With low wings you can't see the ground very well so looking for airports is harder. With high wings you have a great view of the ground but looking for traffic is harder. Now if they made them out of Lucite (or transparent aluminum) everyone would be happy.

A proper configuration of wings still continues to elude both Piper and Cessna - the only perfect airplane ever built is a Pitts!
