Very little news. Just found out from a neighbor, a 787 captain for United, she knows the family. Husband and wife both pilots. Husband was a retired Continental pilot and did not survive. Wife currently flies for United. Very tragic, like any accident...

Another reminder that none of us are immune.

I don't remember how slow 310s are to be flown on base turn, but that sequence almost looks like an overshoot and base to final stall? If the southern heading runway was the intended, that doesn't look like a go-around attempt to me. Perhaps if they meant go-around from an overshot final.
 
Thanks for the link, yeah I see there was additional ADSB feed all the way to the ground. Guess the go-around theory may hold some water then.
