This appears to be a new old stock item. Identical to what's in the 172s I fly (later seventies), but the part number is C669512-0104, so that will tell the tale for a particular usage.
I could test the gauge if needed, but as I'm not a repair station, take the results with a grain of salt.

I've inherited an entire trailer of the remnants of a shop (friend's uncle that died) probably just because I'm a pilot. Most is older avionics (nav/coms, ADFs, DMEs, radar altimeters, Stormscopes, even early GPS.) but there are some hardware items as well (need a set of new plugs for the Lycoming radial in your Waco? I have you covered!) So if you need something, ask. No rhyme or reason to the items he left.
