Thinking If it was fresh oil from a sudden major oil loss then there would be oil streaking down from the belly to the ground.

Yikes; we'd offer to wash it if we saw that mess. Whether the oil ran down [up] would possibly depend on when they lost it.

Or... it gets flown a lot. My work plane probably resembles that... but for instance, we flew it 30 hours in a week a few weeks back.

Hard to say for sure from the pic, but I don't think the belly got like this on one flight. I clean the belly on my plane after every flight...some folks only once a year.

I fly a fair amount. I don’t have time to roll around on the floor cleaning. I did get bored last week, polished the spinner, cleaned the belly, cleaned the tail wheel, cleaned the windshield.
