I was always under the impression that the Canadian beer of choice in the US was Moosehead!
And I don't even want to think about the UK pound. I'm headed to London on business in the next few weeks, the exchange rate is a killer. I'm planning a trip 2 days shorter than I'd usually do, solely because of the cost of things in London at the current exchange rate.
2.05. and the euro is 1.43, which means I wish I had pre-paid the whole apartment in Lisbon instead of just giving him a deposit. sigh.
I am extremely lucky that our rental in Fontona is paid in fixed USD to a American citizen. I do NOT look forward to the rental car prices and gas prices, ugh.
Even going to Whistler next fall is looking expensive!

Well, the good news is Portugal is much much cheaper than Italy so it's not a big difference overall.
ps. if you rent through Autoeurope you pay in USD immediately - which means the price isn't going to change on you. usually I get decent rates through them.
