Line Up and Wait
So I was just checking out a rental plane tonight for a potential ifr flight next week and noticed that the CDI with glide slope only worked when I was flying away from the vor or on the ILS flying away from the airport. The glide slope flag never cleared though.
The plane has whiskers on the tail for both nav comms and the lower CDI works fine.
I'm thinking a loose connection providing a weak signal that gets deflected by the fuselage and wings when signal is from front and clear direct signal from back of plane to ground.
I also noticed when I turned so I was not directly in line of the receiving signal the flag would start flickering until if was full and signal was lost.
Will tell the Mechanic in morning, but I have this innate curiosity of how things work when stuff breaks around me....
Any thoughts?
