Any PIREPs on the CARES harness? Anyone tried it in a GA plane? Seems like it would be less bulky and cumbersome than a car seat.

They work really well. We have used ours for both kids in commercial planes for years. However, they only work if you can slip the strap over the seat. So, I would assume that it would work, so long as your airplane seat can pitch forward, the strap can be slid over and then the seat would stay put.

I picked up a used one locally; should be handy if only for commercial travel.

Such a device might also be useful for the adult occupants of GA aircraft that lack shoulder belts.

I'm going to order one for GA and commercial flights. However, it is not compatible with seatbelts containing airbags.

According to the website, there is a 44 lb. weight restriction for the occupant, mainly to comply with FAA regulations to protect the occupant of the seat behind the one with the CARES restraint.
