For those of you familiar with John Miller, here's a link to a short clip about him--it's about six minutes long. John is 101 years old now and I believe still holds his pilot's certificate (check me on that--it's the last I heard).

There's a short clip in front with a DC-3 arriving and departing.

What a blast!

I love old film, above all else, old color film.

It reminds us that these people were not black and white symbols, but as real as we are today. An autogyro in Eastern Air Lines colors- who knew?

What a thrill...

John used to be a frequent speaker at air safety seminars in Poughkeepsie, NY when I first started flying back in the 70's.

His sense of humor and his two big hearing aids were all part of his special flare. (Think of the hours and hours in the big Super Constellations that he flew back in the day....)

The film reminded me of my first flight ever in a Piedmont Airlines DC3 (from RDU to Knoxville, TN) and going up to the cockpit as a 9 year old. Amazed to see how high we were -- 7,500'.

Interesting. I love viewing old footage.

Whatever happened to Dave Siciliano?
