Airplane! Now showing on HDNet movie channel. Uncensored too!

Belive it or not, I saw that movie for the first time last week... It's hilarious!

I believe the name is Clarence Oveur

...but that's not important right now! :D

Have you ever seen a grown man naked?

Joey...do you like movies about gladiators?

I had the most hilarious experience two years back during my senior year of HS. My friends and I were sitting in the hall, chatting about who knows what, when my English teacher from 10th and 11th grades (he taught some of them too) walked by and totally out of the blue said, "What's your vector, Victor?"

I know, I know, it doesn't sound funny at all. But if you knew him and were there, it was hilarious

If he was an English teacher, I'm betting he said, "What's your vector, Victor?" :D

I had seen Airplane! before seeing any of the Airport movies. So I got to laugh at some "inappropriate" moments during the Airport movies.

AHHHHH I can't BELIEVE I made that mistake!! I NEVER do that. My friends call me a grammar Nazi, and that's one thing I can't stand. Your vs. you're NEVER gets me. Standby for fixing in 3....2...1...

I catch myself typing stuff like that too, even though seeing it is like fingernails on a chalk board to me. :)

You think that's bad. Now that you've seen "Airplane!" go see "Zero Hour" and try not to finish with Airplane! quotes.

I just want to say good luck, we're all counting on you.

Now go watch it five more times, and you'll spot hilarious things you missed the last time around, each time.

Example: Did you notice the decor at the Mayo Clinic? Did you notice who it was left waiting in the taxi the whole movie?

How can a pilot get past first solo without having seen this movie? :)

Howard Jarvis.

I caught the mayo, what I didn't hear (because of all the cheering and whooping in the theatre the first time I saw it) was the full text of the "Win one for the Zipper" speech. "I don't know where I'll be then, Doc. But I won't smell too good, that's for sure."

Striker: We'll be coming in at dawn, from the north, low under their radar.
Elaine: When will you be back?
Striker: I can't tell you that, it's classified.

See a broad get all booty eyed, lay 'em down and smack 'em yack 'em.

Golly.

The interviews about how the "Jive" scene came to be, are hilarious. It's on the Director's Cut DVD.

The two actors literally made up the words after they had an idea to try it, and had to convince the directors to go with their version -- after realizing what was written, no one from their "'hood" would have ever said.

(Not unexpected, the lines written for the two "brothers" were written by a couple of Jewish guys from Hollywood. They were smart enough to realize they had comedy gold in the interactions of the two actors who'd known each other for years.)

They literally saved the scene and made it one of the funniest in the movie.

Then they had to teach Barbara Billingsly her lines, which they described as being quite a challenge for Barbara. In her portion of the interview, she agrees that without those two guys, she couldn't have pulled it off. She hadn't ever heard anything like it. Certainly not been asked to act from any lines like it in her career.

Obviously, it worked. Roll out of your chair, crying, funny stuff.
