If you're a CAP member, and you participate in the FAA WINGS program...

Log into WINGS and go to your Airman Priofile page.

Click on the Other tab in your profile.

There's now a field there to enter your CAPID number.

Phase II of the computer systems integration between the CAP National system (eServices) and the FAA kicks in (hopefully) at the end of November.

Certain CAP activities have already counted for WINGS credit, like checkrides, but you had to double-enter them in CAP's system and FAA's system. Now they'll populate from the CAP system directly into WINGS.

It's also supposedly going to work the other direction as well. Safety seminars taken that qualify for WINGS credit will also update your monthly CAP Safety currency requirements. Eventually.

In general, just enter the CAPID into WINGS and things will slowly start to cross-pollinate as the integration work gets completed.

I assume this will be expanded to other organizations down the road also, so folks who aren't in CAP, keep your eyes peeled for new organizations on the "Other" tab.

Re: FAA WINGS & ASI

Another source of Wings credit, which is automatically entered on your Wings transcript, is AOPA's Air Safety Institute on-line courses. Most of these are excellent, free, on-line and available 24/7. As a refresher source on discrete subject areas, I've found them very useful.
