Piper has been buying some successful competitors lately. But I think Mooney is a little too much to bite off and chew for them.

Probably got the Mooney off the side of the plane. We all know there's only Cessna's and pipers. Everything is one or the other. He had a 50% chance of getting it right then.

Tere was an ugly, old Mooney (I'd guess early sixites) that sat out back at the field for the last 12-15 years, at least, and I asked the airport manager, several times over the years, about buying it for a salvage price, but he always hemmed and hawed, I thought because he hoped the owner would surface and pay all that back rent.

One day it was just gone. Now I see where it went.
