Twin prices have been very depressed and I'm just wondering what the high timers here think about these lower fuel costs possibly turning that market around.

Aren't these fuel prices going to go right back up after Russia's economy collapses again?

I doubt it.

Goldman Sachs target for oil is $39. If it breaches that, all hell could break loose to the downside. They have probably priced a Russian correction in.

Some are saying $50 is the new ceiling for some time to come.

USA today announced 9000 layoffs at Schlumberger.

As for twins, even with cheap gas most hobby fliers aren't interested in maintaining 2.5x of everything.

I have a buddy in drilling and he said they just got cancellation notices for new wells. But they are still drilling some of the scheduled wells. But this is for shale gas, not crude.

First let's hope for people flying more in the planes they have... A robust twin market is dead forever.

The cost of maintaining and insuring a twin is what depressed the market. High fuel costs affected it also but not as much as the other two. Don

I suspect a lot of the twin popularity was due to the avionics goodies they often boasted that were often lacking in their single engined brethren. Now everyone get get all the wx they need off their cell phones.

Not likely, no one thinks it's staying cheap, and the insurance is still a big pill.

I'm wondering when AvGas will come down. Many of the lower priced airports are down under $4/gallon around here. But the average in the southeast is still 5.50

I doubt oil will stay low longer than 1 year... Someone will get fed up with the low prices and start a war.... :)

So it looks like unemployment is going back up and guys who would be getting paid enough to own a twin will be back at WalMart, so no, I don't think there will be a positive affect.
